Tayler & Tim

The Lodge at Whitefish Lake Montana

Their Story

Tayler & Tim’s Whitefish, Montana wedding day was recently featured on Rocky Mountain Bride!

Tayler and Tim’s wedding was a refined affair, accented with white and greenery elements. Their Golden Retriever joined them for charming photos, and bridesmaids looked elegant in champagne floor-length dresses. They chose a first touch over a first look before their lakeview ceremony. Afterward, they celebrated and danced the night away with Jukebox Boise playing in the background.

“On a spontaneous night out on Friday the 13th at dinner with friends, Tim and I met in Denver and upon exchanging phone numbers. My name popped up in his phone as ‘Tayler Bumble’ as we had matched 2 years prior, but never went out on a date because he was up at his family home in Whitefish, Montana. From that night on we both instantly knew it was fate and meant to be! Over the 5 years of dating, we spent every summer on the lake and winters skiing on the hill in Whitefish. The Bandy’s allowed my family of 14 to come visit the magical place of Whitefish where Tim completely surprised me by asking him to marry him in our paradise at home in front of our families. As Tim had grown up visiting Whitefish and had quickly convinced me of its charm we knew we had to get married here. We set a date for August 5th at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake and over the course of 18 months, and the help of our planner Kate Lynn Events, we were able to plan the most perfect set lakeside amongst our family and friends. We wanted our guests to fall in love with Whitefish as much as we loved the sweet charming ‘Hallmark town’ as most call it, so we invited everyone to come for the weekend. Arriving Thursday for a casual day on the lake at the Bandy’s home to kick things off as guests checked into their hotels. On Friday morning, the girls celebrated me with a bridal bruncheon while the boys golfed with the groom at Ironhorse golf club. Friday evening we wanted to forego the traditional rehearsal dinner and invite all of our guests to a Yellowstone themed welcome party, ‘Bandy, Boots, and BBQ’ at a private barn in town where we had a local favorite John Dunnigan play acoustic, a cigar bar and whisky tasting in the teepee, and our guests went full out on the theme dressing in cowboy hats, boots, and bolos. The wedding day was everything and more! Tim and I decided against a first look and opted to do our vows in private with our backs to each other to keep the element of surprise. Our ceremony was nestled right on the lake overlooking the mountains where guests were greeted with pre-ceremony champagne and paper fans to keep them cool. Walking down the aisle in my beautiful Kelly Faetini dress to the cellist playing an instrumental version of Frank Sinatra’s ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You’. We wanted to keep our ceremony short and sweet so we could get right to the party. My brother-in-law, Brad, married us. Confetti cannons popped as we had our first kiss and our band erupted in the lyrical live version of ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You’ (dreamt of these details before I was engaged and it was all so perfect). Our guests enjoyed a longer cocktail hour as Tim and I went out on the Lodge’s wooden classic boat for a private champagne cruise (the whole reason I picked the lodge for our venue!), where we got to spend time alone sipping champagne and soaking it all in as we drove by our guests that celebrated us on the shore. We returned to the reception in a tent overlooking the water, decorated with a neutral color palette and a greenery draping chandeliers. Once at the table, the guests found their placement with the stone table numbers to bring in the neutral and mountainous elements accompanied by deckle edged menus and personalized clay ornaments for their seating assignments. My vision was ‘Tuscan coastal neutrals with mountain elements’. After our first dance to Tyler Childers ‘All Your’ the band, Jukebox from Boise who we flew in, kicked off the night and had the dance floor full all night long before we headed out to the local dive bars to keep the partying going late night. It was truly everything and more having our friends and family celebrate us in our paradise, Whitefish, Montana.”
